Tripod
I searched ebay among other sites in an attempt to find a used tripod heafty enough to support the jib. All of the tripods that I found were either too high in price or did not have a high enough load capacity. So I built my own. The tripod works great with the jib or with only a fluid head and camera. The only downside to the tripod is that it is a bit heavy (19lbs). I chose to use steel instead of aluminum because I do not have the equipment necessary to weld aluminum. I have used the tripod with the jib several times and have not found the weight to be a problem. The tripod/jib can be moved by one person with slight effort. Many thanks to Joren Clark and his website for the basis of this design. The total cost to build the tripod was around $125.
