Snod35 V1 - Achromat

The Snod35 V1 uses Redrockmicro's 55mm achromat (below at left) to allow my DVX100B to focus on the focusing element. The Centruy Optics +7 achromat (center image) can be used in conjunction with the Canon 500D +2 achromat (at right) for a total power of +9. The price of the Redrockmicro achromat is much less than this combo though and provides great results.

In instances where the images are suffering from edge blurring, using a larger diameter achromat may help to resolve the problem. Though I have never experienced any edge blurring with the Snod35 V1, I will most likely use Redrockmicro's 72mm HD achromat in V2. This way, the adapter will be set up for use with SD or HD cameras.

Less expensive close-up and macro lenses such as the Asian +10 macro can be used in place of the achromat, but the images will be full of chromatic aberration.
