Snod35 V1 - Sanko 1E110 Motor
The image below at left shows the various types and sizes of motors that I have tested. With this design, some of the motors came close to working as well as the Sanko, but never close enough. The picture at middle is the now extinct Sanko 1E110 motor. At right is a 14mm 7E096 motor from a company in Japan. It is the same size as the Sanko motor. Though it did the best job out the possible replacement motors, it still didn't stand up to the Sanko. My guess is that the offset weight used in the Sanko motor has more mass than the 7E096 motor from Japan.
Unfortunately the move is to make these types of vibrating motors smaller, lighter, and more compact to accommodate the shrinking size of cell phones and pagers. I owe a huge thank you to Alex Chong for helping me get the 7E096 motor to test. Alex has been incredibly helpful in my search for the Sanko motor and possible replacements.
